Two years after announcing that it was eliminating all loans from its financial-aid packages, Dartmouth College is re-instituting a loan requirement for many financial-aid recipients. Under the policy, which takes effect with the class entering in the fall of 2011, Dartmouth will expect financial-aid recipients from families with incomes above $75,000 to take out loans of $2,500 to $5,500. Williams College ended its no-loan guarantee last week.
