Welcome to the Alabama Southern Community College Online Financial Aid Office! We hope that these pages are helpful as you seek information about the financial aid program at Alabama Southern. Our mission is to assist students and their families as they face the challenge of paying for college. We recognize that in many instances individuals and their parents are simply not able to meet the entire cost of a college education; therefore, in cases where this is true, the College will assist students in trying to meet these obligations. Our financial aid programs are comprehensive in nature and range from scholarships to work study. WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE ALL CURRENT AND PROSPECTIVE ALABAMA SOUTHERN STUDENTS TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID!

Our staff is available to help you with any questions or concerns you may have. Students who have questions concerning financial aid should call or visit the financial aid office prior to scheduling classes.

More that 75 percent of Alabama Southern's students receive some type of financial assistance. The federal government, the State of Alabama, Alabama Southern Community College, and individual donors to the College fund the financial aid programs available at Alabama Southern.


The primary document used by the Financial Aid Staff in determining eligibility for financial aid is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. Alabama Southern's Title IV School Code number is 001034. The majority of the financial aid dollars at ASCC are awarded to students on the basis of financial need; however, a number of scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, artistic ability, athletic skill, leadership, or other student attributes. Please note that when applying for industry scholarships, completed scholarship applications and any other required documents should be turned in to the Student Development Office by March 1. Early application for scholarships is essential. Most scholarships are awarded in the month of March. Regional Healthcare Alliance scholarship applications must be turned in by May and are awarded in May.
