UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA SOUTHEAST Fiancial Aid Information
Welcome
We are eager to help you and your family understand our financial aid programs and find ways to pay your college costs. Financial aid makes college affordable. It can help pay for tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, transportation, school-related child care costs, and miscellaneous living expenses.

State and federal governments, the university, and many private organizations offer grants, scholarships, loans and employment opportunities to students who demonstrate need for such assistance. All applications for financial aid for students in Juneau, Ketchikan or Sitka are processed in Juneau.

To apply for financial aid complete these Step by Step instructions.

To check the status of your financial aid, sign onto UAOnline and select the Financial Aid tab. From here, you can review your unmet requirements and accept or decline your aid offer.

FAFSA
All students who want financial assistance of any kind to pay for college should complete the FAFSA. All federal financial aid (Stafford loans, Pell grants, ACG, SMART and TEACH grants, etc) require the FAFSA. Completing it also maximizes your eligibility for state grants and institutional scholarships.

Exit Counseling Session
If you borrowed a Federal Stafford Loans sometime during your attendance at UAS, you now need to complete an Exit Counseling session. This counseling session will provide useful tips on how to manage your student loans now that you are approaching your repayment phase, and can be completed online at mapping-your-future.org.

To determine how much you have borrowed we encourage you to stop by our office or you can check the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS). You will need your 4 digit federal Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access this site.

If you have further questions please feel free to contact the Financial Aid Office at 907-796-6255
