The University of Tennessee annually offers over 4,000 awards from over 1,400 scholarship accounts. Scholarships at UT are available from many sources to undergraduate and graduate students. Over $18,000,000 in scholarship funds are awarded annually, with four-year, one-year, and renewable scholarships available.


Entering Freshmen Students

To be considered a priority applicant for all University of Tennessee scholarships, including the Chancellor's 4-year scholarships, all entering freshman must submit both the Entering Freshman Scholarship Application and the UT Admissions Application with all supporting documentation, postmarked by no later than November 1 the senior year in high school. All applications received by no later than December 1 will be reviewed for all university scholarships (general, college & departmental), excluding the Chancellor's and the McClanahan Scholarships.

Returning and Transfer Students

To be considered for general university, and academic college scholarships, students should complete the Returning and Transfer Student Undergraduate Scholarship Application by February 1 for returning students and April 1 for transfer students. Questions regarding academic college and departmental scholarships should be directed to the appropriate college or department.
