Nampa School District graduates can apply for interest-free student loans

Graduates of Nampa School District high schools can apply for a loan from the Preston Capell Educational Fund to pay for education expenses.

The applications are due by 3 p.m., April 3, and are available from counselors at Columbia, Nampa, Ridgeline and Skyview high schools or by calling Tammy Wallen at 468-4600 at the district office. The fund provides no-interest loans for students to pay for college or vocational studies and is named for former Nampa Mayor Preston Capell who donated $180,000 to the district for a student loan fund. The fund has grown to more than $300,000. The loans are awarded based on scholarship, financial need and potential for service and achievement.
