Applying for financial aid at Rice University
Applying for Aid

Applying for financial aid at Rice University is as easy as 1-2-3!

1) Complete the FAFSA by March 1. Use 003604 for the School Code.

2) Complete the CSS Profile by March 1. Use 6609 for the CSS Profile Code.

3) Submit 2008 Tax Returns and W-2's to IDOC by March 1.

Although March 1 is a priority deadline, we process aid all year long. You do not need to submit additional paperwork for scholarships, as each student is automatically considered for merit scholarships during the admissions process.

Returning Students should have the FAFSA, CSS Profile and IDOC completed by April 15th.

Early Decision Students must submit their CSS Profile and previous year's tax returns by November 15.

Graduate Students do not need to fill out the CSS Profile. A FAFSA is required if you are interested in obtaining any Guaranteed Federal Loans. You do not need to submit tax information unless asked to do so for verification while filling out the FAFSA. In such case, please mail copies of your forms to the Office of Financial Aid. Our priority deadline is May 15, but we process aid requests throughout the year.

The Office of Financial Aid at Rice University is committed to assisting students in obtaining the largest financial aid award possible. It is the students' responsibility to comply with all of the requirements of the financial aid process. In addition, our office is not responsible for students' financial obligations to Rice University.
